The Zutons

I don't usually listen to Zane Lowe, in fact the way he talks, looks and generally conducts himself I find downright annoying (I have heard anecdotal evidence to suggest that he is as full of himself as he sounds).

However, last night, I got in the car and it was already tuned to Radio 1. I recognised the sound of The Zutons immediately, even though I had never heard the song before. They were in session, and it was great to hear the return of a band who do have their own distinct sound. I have no idea what the new song was called, but I liked it.

Then they did a cover of "No-one knows" by Queens of the Stone Age. A great song, and you would have to be brave to even attempt to cover it. But they Zuton-ised it and I really liked it! If you're curious, you can of course listen again via the Radio 1 homepage.

For the record, I think I am going to order their new album now...
